Before starting her own business, Alice spent 15 years of federal contract as an IT program manager. In 2010, the Department of Defense honored Alice with a Certificate of Appreciation Citation from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, for her “superior abilities through a multitude of areas dealing with program management” that included three primary projects. One was the review of the issues associated with a repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell program, which “showed great intellect, judgment, analytical abilities, and devotion to duty that reflect distinct credit upon herself and the Department of Defense.”
As a military spouse of 32 years, Alice volunteered untold hours to develop the Family Readiness Support Group for the 5th Group Special Forces and train commanders and their representatives with the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. She has also worked as a substitute teacher at Department of Defense military schools at each command.
Alice holds two industry distinctions as a National Certified Guardian (NCG), and Program Management Professional (PMP). In 1996 she was bestowed the Commander’s Award for Public Service, as well as being honored with a distinguished Service Award from the United States Army Special Operations Command.
Alice is an active member of the community serving as a volunteer guardian for the Arlington Court Appointed Guardians & Personal Advocate Program. She is active in her church, serving on the team to serve meals at Christ House for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington and is the Parish Liaison Network Representative, and a weekly Adorer for St. Agnes’ Adoration Chapel.
Alice holds memberships in the National Guardianship Association, the Aging Life Care Association, the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Association of Daily Money Managers and the McLean Estate Planning Council.
Alice is a native of Arlington, Virginia and retired to the area with her family after moving around the United States as a military officer’s wife. She received her Master of Education from Marymount University and her B.A. in Sociology from American University.
Alice has four children and 14 grandchildren, and she loves to spend as much time as possible with them, her cat Robin, and relaxing anywhere near water, in particular, the Chesapeake Bay, the North Carolina Outer Banks, or near a trout stream in Wisconsin.
